In March, a man riding an e-scooter was killed in a hit and run accident in Santa Monica. The Santa Monica Police Department reported that the 41-year-old victim sustained significant head and body trauma during the collision, and later died from head injuries at the hospital.

According to the police report and witness statements, the driver of the vehicle that collided with the scooter’s rider exited his vehicle after the accident but left the scene before the first responders arrived. As of this publication, the vehicle’s driver has yet to be identified.
