The manufacturer claims the 2013 through 2015 Nissan Altima vehicles that were manufactured between March 1, 2013 and December 31, 2014 were equipped with secondary hood latches that could bind while in use. As a result, the bind may cause the hood to open unexpectedly if the primary latch fails and the secondary latch was impacted. To prevent the secondary latch from remaining in the unlatched position and ensure the hood won’t be opened unexpectedly, the company issued the recall right away.

According to the federal agency, the recalled vehicles should be inspected and fixed immediately if the issue is identified. Since the fuel pump relay inside the cars’ Totally Integrated Power Module may suddenly fail, the vehicle’s engine may stall unexpectedly.

The auto recall impacts all units of the 2012 and 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured between September 17, 2010 and August 19, 2013 as well as the 2012 and 2013 Dodge Durango vehicles manufactured between January 18, 2011 and August 19, 2013. To prevent accidents that could stem from an unexpected engine stall, the company is going to contact consumers with the recalled Chrysler vehicles.
