When it comes to a consumer product or drug recalls, many of us are exposed to serious health risks long before the campaigns are launched.

According to a series of recent news reports, a company that was accused of producing certain drugs for children with metal components has recently pleaded guilty to the charge.

The company behind the incident is a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary known as McNeil Consumer Healthcare. The company has recently pleaded guilty in a Federal District Court in Philadelphia. The charge claims the company manufactured and processed adulterated over-the-counter medicines that were developed for children.

The company has pleaded guilty and agreed to pay $25 million to the U.S. Department of Justice. The occurrence took place in a Federal District Court in Philadelphia. The charges were brought over reports concerning over-the-counter medicine products that contained metal fragments. Many of the drugs involved in the case included Infants’ Tylenol and Children’s Motrin.

The issues were previously addressed in a series of recalls issued by the Johnson & Johnson subsidiary back in 2010. At the time, many of the recall campaigns targeted the children medication. But they were not the only ones issued by the company.

Between 2008 and 2010, several other recalls were launched. They often implicated bottles of Benadryl, Tylenol, and Motrin due to the presence of metal particles. The recalls were also associated with other issues such as moldy odors and even some labeling problems.

According to McNeil Consumer Healthcare, the settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice offers the firm an opportunity to put an end to failed practices. After the settlement, the company’s spokesperson claimed that the company is implementing enhanced quality and other oversight standards so that consumers do not suffer any potential risks associated with quality issues in the future.
