The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has reported that the company behind this recall has decided to launch the recall after it learned that the drug may not meet impurities and degradation specifications. The vials impacted by the recall were manufactured at the company’s Pithampur facility. While the recall was first launched in late April, many of the products are still being used.

The FDA decided to crack down on several Indian drugmakers last year after many reports concerning their facilities and their manufacturing standards concerned regulators. Too often, some of these drugmakers are uncapable of following certain procedures used by drug makers in the United States. To regulators, this presents an issue since several of these products may not meet important safety standards. Drug products sold in the U.S., federal regulators argue, must meet important standards so patients are not exposed to any health issue.
