The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has recently released two announcements concerning two Ford recall campaigns.

The first announcement is associated with a recall that impacts over 1,540 units of the 2013 through 2015 Lincoln MKT vehicles that were fitted with a limousine and hearse prep package. The vehicles associated with this recall could expose occupants to personal injury risks.

The recall was issued after the company learned that the vacuum pump relay in these vehicles could overheat while in use. The problem may stem from a possible internal fault or contamination.

The vehicles affected by the recall could expose consumers to a serious fire risk if the problem is not addressed immediately.

To prevent incidents that could lead to personal injuries, Ford has announced that it will be contacting all impacted vehicle owners. The vehicles will be inspected and the vacuum pump relays will be replaced. A new electro-mechanical relay should be installed in the place to put an end to the potential fire risk. The company should begin contacting impacted vehicle owners on May 11, but if you were impacted, you should contact the manufacturer immediately to have your questions or concerns addressed.

According to Ford, all units of the 2011 through 2013 Explorer vehicles were fitted with certain interior door handle return springs that could be unseated while in use. This problem could cause the door to unlatch in case the vehicle is involved in a collision that impacts the side of the vehicle.

All impacted vehicles should be inspected at authorized dealers. Once they are inspected, the staff should repair or replace the interior door handles. The repair should be carried out for free.
