Three major automakers have launched auto recalls that have impacted thousands of vehicles across the country. According to the latest reports published by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, these companies may not be known for their high rates of recalls, nonetheless, consumers who own or drive one of the recalled vehicles regularly should not ignore the risks.

The first recall campaign impacts Mitsubishi and Chrysler vehicles. According to the federal agency reporting on the recall, the companies have, jointly, recalled 459,618 vehicles nationwide. Models listed under the latest recall include the 2000 through 2005 Eclipse as well as the 2001 through 2005 Eclipse Spyder. Chrysler vehicles impacted include the 2001 through 2005 Chrysler Sebring as well as the Dodge Stratus of the same year makes.

The official report claims that all impacted vehicles come with certain passenger side sun visors that could folded down in a position that may make passengers vulnerable. In case the air bag deploys, the side sun visor may be folded down in a position that would make it more likely to come detached. As a result, the passenger may suffer a personal injury risk.

Owners of the vehicles impacted by the recall are being contacted soon. According to the official announcement, both Chrysler and Mitsubishi are working to contact all consumers with recalled and potentially hazardous side sun visors. Once the vehicles are inspected at authorized dealers, a tether strap should be installed on the newer vehicles. This fix would make sure the passenger sun visors are retained and passenger are protected.

Subaru Recalls Over 70,000 Vehicles Across America

According to the latest report released by federal regulators, Subaru has launched a recall that impacts all units of the 2015 Legacy, Outback, Impreza, XV Crosstrek, and 2016 WRX vehicles.

Since these vehicles’ Eyesight Driver Assist Systems may have been fitted with certain switches that may not work as intended, certain issues with the brake lights may arise. As a result, the system will fail, and the pre-collision braking component may then fail. As a result, the vehicle may experience an accident, putting the safety of occupants in risk.

A driver assist technology failure may expose drivers who rely on the technology to serious risks. In order to ensure that the pre-collision braking system functions correctly and the technology reacts promptly to an obstacle ahead, the company will be reprogramming the driver assist system in the impacted vehicles. Once that occurs, the problem will no longer expose drivers to possible crash risks.

While over 70,000 vehicles have been impacted, no accidents have been linked to this recall.
