The latest reports concerning auto recalls involve thousands of vehicles in the United States that could expose drivers and their passengers to crash risks.

According to several news sources, Jaguar Land Rover has launched a recall campaign that impacts 104,000 units of certain vehicles. The issues that prompted the recall are varied. In some cases, equipment failure linked to the impacted models could even lead to deadly crashes.

Largest Auto Recall Linked to Brake Issues

According to Jaguar, 75,000 units of 2006 through 2012 Range Rovers are being recalled. The campaign was launched five years after the car maker initiated a probe into a series of issues including brake line problems. According to the official assessment published by the company, the vehicles come with brake hoses that could fail to function correctly. The problem could cause the car to require longer distances to come to a full stop. Longer periods could cause the driver to have a harder time attempting to stop the vehicle to avoid a crash. To prevent accidents, the company decided to issue this auto recall promptly.

While this recall is only being launched now, the problem has been investigated since 2010. The initial investigation followed reports of brake fluid leads from the cars’ brake flex hoses. While the reports prior to the investigation were registered with the manufactured, not major accident was reported. Until the company finalized its testing. That’s when a report of an accident involving one of the vehicles surfaced. According to the report then, the vehicle had experienced a ruptured brake hose, which led to the accident.

Jaguar Land Rover decided to go over the issue once more in January. The review led to the company’s decision to launch a recall by determining the problem could expose drivers to safety risks.

But that’s not the only auto recall campaign being launched by Jaguar Land Rover. According to the announcements, 24,679 units of the 2013 and 2014 Range Rover Sport and Range Rover SUVs vehicles over issues linked also to the brakes. In these vehicles, the brake vacuum hose may have been fitted incorrectly, causing it to be routed improperly. This issue might cause the hose to wear and cracks may occur. A crack could result in loss of braking power.

In spite of the many risks linked to the brake problems, more vehicles manufactured by Jaguar Land Rover are also being recalled by side parking lights. According to the reports, the lights could turn off unexpectedly. Models impacted by the parking lights auto recall include the 2012 through 2014 Jaguar XK vehicles.
