The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has recently indicated that at least two major automakers have issued auto recalls recently.

The first auto recall issued by one of the manufacturers is associated with certain Kia vehicles. According to the company itself, all impacted vehicles were fitted with certain accelerator pedal assemblies that may have been equipped with parts that haven’t been soldered correctly. The model impacted is the 2016 Sorento vehicles that were manufactured between October 27, 2014 and January 29, 2015.

Since the issue could cause a loss of acceleration power, the component may cause the accelerator to fail. If the motorist is unable to accelerate the car while it’s in use, an accident may take place. The company has indicated that over 12,000 units of these vehicles have been impacted.

Kia has indicated that all impacted vehicles will be inspected and potentially defective parts will be replaced for free. The official company announcement has already been made but if you haven’t been contacted yet, you’re urged to contact Kia right away.

Second Auto Recall Impacts Chevy Cars

The second auto recall involves a series of Chevrolet vehicles. They include the 2014 Chevrolet Impala vehicles that were produced between November 15 ,2012 and May 27, 2014. These vehicles, reports show, come with certain electronic parking brake piston actuation arms that may not retract while in use. This problem could cause the brake pads to stay partially engaged, which could then cause the brake to experience excessive heat. This issue may lead to a fire in case the problem occurs while the vehicle is in use.

To prevent fires and accidents, consumers with the recalled vehicles are being urged to schedule a visit to local dealerships to have this issue addressed.
