Olivia Culbreath, the driver accused of causing Sunday’s fatal car accident, apparently had a history of reckless driving, including a prior DUI conviction.

In the aftermath of the fatal car accident that occurred this past Sunday morning and resulted in the deaths of 6 people, investigators have found out that Olivia Culbreath had a very spotty driving record that included a prior DUI conviction. Culbreath is the 21-year-old woman who is suspected to have been drunk when at about 4:40 a.m. Sunday, she was driving east on the westbound 60 Freeway in Diamond Bar and caused a deadly car wreck. While Culbreath is reportedly still receiving treatment for the injuries she sustained in this accident, including a fractured femur and a ruptured bladder:

  • She has been charged with felony DUI and manslaughter.
  • These charges may only be compounded by additional criminal charges when investigators receive the results of her blood alcohol testing in the coming days.

Culbreath’s History of Reckless Driving: Her Prior DUI Conviction

According to DMV records that investigators have located, Culbreath was officially convicted of drunk driving on April 13, 2010. Although her reported BAC in that incident has not yet been made public and it is currently unknown whether she complied with all of the terms of her probation in that case, DMV records disclose that:

  • Her driver’s license was officially suspended.
  • She was stopped for at least two moving violations during her license suspension.
  • Her driver’s license was reinstated in a limited capacity in December 2011.
  • Last week, the restrictions on her driver’s license were officially lifted by the DMV entirely.

As investigators continue building their case against Culbreath and more details about this fatal car accident become available, we will continue bringing you the latest updates and news about this wreck and the associated ongoing criminal case.
